Frequency Matters

Children learn what they hear and see most. Programs should focus on language children can engage with, respond to and use in the preschool context.

Some reflective questions to consider are:

  • Have I identified key phrases that can be used regularly as part of daily routines?
  • Have I planned for children to have multiple opportunities to hear, see and engage with key language?
  • Can I use resources in a range of different ways to increase frequency of engagement with key language?
