Since 1908, fka Children’s Services (fkaCS) has advocated for high quality education for all Victorian children and families. Our vision is for all children to actively participate in quality education and care services that recognise, value and celebrates multilingualism, social diversity and difference.

• Maintain the Multicultural Resource Centre collection – ensuring multicultural and bilingual resources are readily available to Victorian Education and Care Services

Access to our Multicultural Resource Centre (MRC) collection of over 1,000 bilingual books and resources

As early childhood professionals, we know that when children and families see, hear and sense their identity being valued in the environment, a growing sense of welcoming and belonging is established.

The MRC ensures members have access to a diverse array of resources that encourage cultivation of culturally rich environments and support a sense of identity and belonging for multilingual children and their families.

Our collection includes books in over 40 languages, games, dramatic play items, CDs, literacy kits and story bags. We also have an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collection featuring books, puppets, textiles and more.

Access to member-only educator resources and translated information for families via our website

Share information with multilingual families in their language/s. Our translated resources include the importance of a positive start in early years, learning through play, and maintaining home language/s.

Our educator resources cover a range of topics including orientation, learning and development, facilitating cultural competence with children, supporting multilingual children families and more! There is also the beloved Days of Significance Calendar available for download, featuring important cultural and religious dates from around the world.

Global Language Books: Specialising in CALD and LOTE fields, GLB provide quality resources that share an exchange of ideas, philosophies, knowledge, stories and language.
