Best Start, Best Life 2023 Educational Leaders Conference

The Department of Education’s Best Start, Best Life 2023 Educational Leaders Conference will be held on Wednesday 15 February 2023 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and live streamed. Limited seats are available.

Key event details

Moderated by leading journalist Ellen Fanning, the conference is an exciting opportunity for early childhood Educational Leaders to come together and hear from world-renowned experts and other leaders in the field.

The conference theme is Evidence for impact: giving children the best start. The day will engage educational leaders from across the state in an evidence-informed discussion on the importance of quality pedagogy and the role of the educational leader.

The conference will feature keynote presentations from three renowned international experts:

  • Professor Iram Siraj, Professor of Child Development and Education, University of Oxford
  • Professor Jane Bertrand, Program Director, Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation
  • Sir Kevan Collins, Board Member, Goodstart Early Learning and Board Member, AERO.

One Educational Leader per funded Victorian kindergarten service (including long day care and sessional services) is eligible to attend the conference free of charge, either in-person or online. The department will also provide contributions to backfill for eligible in-person and online attendees and a contribution to travel for some regional and rural delegates attending the event in-person.
