Join us as we celebrate supporting children’s cultural and linguistic rights for the 109th year with special guest, the Victorian Premier’s Volunteer of the Year, Dr Sue Lopez Atkinson.
Championing the importance of early year’s education for Aboriginal children has earned proud Yorta Yorta woman Dr Sue Lopez Atkinson the title of Premier’s Volunteer of the Year for 2018. For the past 20 years, Sue has played an integral role in building understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights in Victoria as part of steps towards meaningful reconciliation.
Sue will share with us her story of developing and implementing the Possum Skin Pedagogy Project which focuses on the possum skin cloaks of the Victorian Aboriginal community and has had immense success through the face-to-face professional learning workshops held this year.
